J. Carter is a musician, singer, songwriter, audio engineer, performer, motion graphics artist, videographer and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Colorado, most years in Colorado Springs, right outside Denver, J. Carter discovered his creative passions early on. With his passion for God driving him, he began playing and singing in church worship teams and his love for music grew. In high school he was introduced to the world of recording music and composing and never looked back. He knew the path he wanted to pursue and went on to get his bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. 

Since then he has spent years developing his crafts and gaining experience in the workforce. He began working for a ministry developing their products and discovered his love for the creative world didn’t just stop with music. He moved into a video production role and was exposed to a brand new world. This skill gave him more opportunities and he went on to become the content manager for a multi-million dollar company. While he was developing his career he was performing around the United States and recording and releasing music for himself and other aspiring artists as well as leading worship. In 2010, J. Carter partnered with ministers and musicians in Colorado Springs to create City Lights Ministries. They held monthly events for outreach in the community spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Over the years J. Carter continued to write, record, and release his music and has had the great opportunity to work with some amazing artists such as Andy Mineo, Flame, Bizzle, Datin, JSon, Spec, C-Micah, and SOCOM to name a few. 

As J. Carter continued in his career, he decided to fully commit to his dreams and go into business full time and start JCarterSound Media. J. Carter wanted to build something that took all his years of experience and skills and offer that to his clients. His experience as an artist himself provides a unique perspective, care, and attention to detail when he creates for others. He can understand and connect with their passions to help their vision come to life. The services provided range from audio mixing and mastering to video production and promotion.
